The featured stone is Fire Opal, one of the most valuable and rarest in the world among Opals. It glows in a deep reddish-orange color spectrum. It has some transparency and lot's of color play. The photo does not fully capture its warm glow. The strand meassure about 17-3/4" long. The size of the stones graduates from 4.5-9mm. In the center I added a metal bead with one of my signature patterns. the necklace closes with a German-made strong magnetic clasp.
A layer of patina gives this necklace THE well loved, completely carefree look. Over time it will get a bit more shiny and show off the suttle textures.
